Below are some of the questions that we are often asked as folks move through
the process of buying a Log Home. Please contact us with any other questions
  that you have.

Q. What does Log Kit mean?
A. A Log Kit will vary from one manufacturer to another. Some companies sell logs only and some sell a complete shell. Some companies include interior doors, partitions, stairs, etc. You should take a close look at any estimate that is provided to you to see exactly what a company is offering in their package. We are so confident in the value of our packages that we offer the Honest Value Guarantee.

Q. I have heard stories that log homes shrink and settle, is this true?
A. Yes, all logs shrink and settle no matter what type of wood is used, this is why you should use dry  logs and use a company that designs their structures to allow for settling.

Q. We have heard stories about log homes having twisted logs, big gaps between logs, etc., what causes this?
A. Some companies use green logs and are not built to allow for the settling process. You should choose a company that dries their logs and mill the logs so that they settle properly. Our packages  kiln-dried to an average moisture content between 15-18%.

Q. What type of foundation do you use to build a log home?
A. Any type of foundation a conventional home can be built on such as a slab, full basement, crawl space, pilings or piers.

Q. Are log homes energy efficient?
A. Solid wood is the best insulation in the world, you can save 25%-40% compared to a conventional home. You can read more from a report from the National Association of Homebuilders by clicking here.

Q. Can I modify a standard plan?
A. Yes. Over 90% of the homes that we sell are either a custom floor plan or a modification of one of our standard floor plans.

Q. Is financing hard to find for log homes?
A. No, there are many lenders that specialize in log home financing. You can contact us for more information on financing contacts that specialize in log homes.
